Library / Media Center
General Information
The mission of the New Hope Media Center is to help students become efficient users of information and to foster a love of reading and literature. The Media Center is open for all students everyday from 7:30am-2:10pm. In addition to visiting the library with their teachers, students can come to check out books anytime during the day. Parents are welcome to visit the Media Center and the Parent Resource center to check-out materials. Our librarian, Mrs. Kelley Johnston, collaborates with teachers to teach library and information literacy skills, as well as to promote literature and reading in conjunction with our school curriculum. Our clerk, Mrs. Karen Streett, is here to maintain organization in the media center and to help assist students with locating books. Feel free to contact Mrs. Johnston with questions or concerns at 706-673-3180 or by email at [email protected] Destiny Quest is our online card catalog. It is also a great source for research. Check out the Websites, Onde Search, and Digital Resources tabs associated with your search results.

Birthday Book Club
Celebrate your child’s birthday and increase the media center collection! The Birthday Book Club is a way to honor your child and benefit every other student in the school. Students will be able to choose from a set of books that have been pre-ordered specifically for the Birthday Book Club. After your child picks out a book, they will be the first person to check out their donated book. A bookplate with you child’s name will be placed in the front of the book purchased and a bulletin board with the names of all members will be on display in the media center. All members are invited to a birthday party in May. Join the club! |
